My Story

SUCCESS!!!

We all safely and rather excitedly completed our 15,000ft skydive on Sunday 25th June! A huge thank you to the team at SkyHigh Skydiving who kept us safe and made it such an enjoyable experience!

Thank you even more so to each and every one of you who has supported us through this. Your donations are actively making a difference and being deployed across the region now! THANK YOU!

We will keep our sponsorship page open for another few weeks for those who wanted to wait until we had completed it before sponsoring us!

Best wishes,

Gemma, Kenny, Jenny, & James!

On Sunday 4th June, we went to undertake the highest skydive in the UK. However, the weather had other ideas and this meant that tipping ourselves out of a plane at 15,000 ft was especially unsafe and thus could not be done.

So, on Sunday 25th June (weather-willing), our little group plans to undertake the challenge of a lifetime; the highest skydive in the UK

From 15,000 feet up in the air, we will each tip out of a small plane and hurtle towards the earth for 60 seconds at 120mph before our instructor deploys our parachute. Any higher and we would need oxygen masks.

Why would we do this? Why indeed.

To help relieve poverty on our doorstep in County Durham. We know with soaring food prices, energy bills, and other essentials that poverty is painful and it can affect so many people in our area. We want to make a difference and discovered the CDCF Poverty Hurts Appeal, which will provide funding to groups working with those most affected by poverty in the local area.

We have secured matched funding from Eldon Financial Planning up to £5,000 and also from the CDCF. This means that for every £1 given £3 will arrive with the Poverty Hurts Appeal.

Please consider donating to support our challenge. We know times are hard and money is tight but there is a great need in our region and we are willing to fling ourselves from a plane at 15,000 feet to help address it!

If you would prefer to donate via cheque or cash please get in touch and we can provide details on how to do this.

With thanks,

Kenny, Gemma, Jenny, and James
